I want to buy a decent camera and need advice on what to buy?

I am not clued up on cameras and not sure what to buy. It will be for taking photos at family events/ nights out with my friends, so will need to be able to take photos in the dark. I'm also interested in maybe taking photography up as a hobby.

I have a budjet of 拢200.00.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.I want to buy a decent camera and need advice on what to buy?
if you want to learn the art and science get a DSLR or SLR and a flashI want to buy a decent camera and need advice on what to buy?
if you are interested in pick up photography then perhaps you should go ahead and buy a SLR camera. a single lens camera that difference lenses are interchangable. the lens are the main thing that captures good photographs. so pick a camera with good lens.
Digital Photography Review has a Buying Guide which lets you select tons of things that are important to you and then gives you recommendations for the best cameras which meet your needs.

A big advantage to this approach is that you can change a parameter such as price range and see how that changes the recommendations.鈥ㄢ€?br>

Matching a camera to your specific needs and desires is much better than just having someone recommend models that they like.鈥?br>

In answer to your question;you can't take photos in the dark.

Maybe for dimmer light than most lookinto the Fuji F30 or FujiF20.
my suggestion

go to yahoo shopping

digital cameras

digital camera GUIDE

be sure to check titles on the left side

the guide should answer your questions
A small Kodak or just about anything would give good results. Make sure it has optical zoom. Some only offer digital zoom but don't bother with those. Pentax Optio is handy and a good performer.

When you have got a bit of experience and learned about all the modes then you can think about a digital SLR in a year or two. Your budget doesn't stretch to that yet.
I suggest the cannon powershot 550 its only about 150$ 7.1 megapixels 16x optical %26amp; digetel zoom it has camcorder auto manuel nightshots landscape kids and pets and many more settings the pics are crystel clear unbeliviable quality also you can buy many accesories lens extenders chargers extra memory cards and you can go to any drugstore and devolp your own pics right off your memory card in seconds cheap like 10 cents a pic you can also do great inlargements up to big 16x10's and they look just as clear as on your computer this is hands down the best camerea for the money amazon has it rated #2 behind a 300$ camerea and #3 is also 300$
Hi may i suggest the Rico caplio 5 fits in your pocket good spec and an exellent lens and when you learn more about your hobby it will still be good enough for serious photography good luck

p.s. if can afford an extra 拢30 get the RICOH Caplio r6 its newer spec has a wide angle zoom
Even though I personally own this ultra compact camera, I would still like to highly recommend the purchase of a Nikon Coolpix L10 for the following reasons:

1. Besides taking well-exposed hi-quality 5 megapixel pictures, it uses a standard set of rechargeable double AA batteries which last a very long time - 300 shots per set of rechargeables;

2. Has a 3x optical zoom;

3. The flash setting for ';red-eye'; correction is on the navigator wheel and not within a submenu;

4. It's very small and light;

5. Uses inexpensive SD memory cards;

6. The digital video feature takes wonderful ';sound'; videos which are noise free. It records the piano very well with it's built-in microphone;

7. It comes with a USB 2.0 transfer cable which you connect to your USB computer port;

8. Has tripod mount on bottom of camera;

9. And the price is a mere $119 [sold at Samy's Camera - www.samys.com, and Staples.com; $99 at amazon.com]

Review(s) can be found at www.amazon.com [Query: ';Nikon Coolpix L10'; along with pictures provided by satisfied purchasers.]

Good luck!
