I need advice on bringing a kitten around who is a little stand offish?

There are three kittens who have taken up residence at my house. They aren't wild but they are not exactly tame either. One is almost tame. How can I help it get closer?I need advice on bringing a kitten around who is a little stand offish?
Feed it and talk softly to itI need advice on bringing a kitten around who is a little stand offish?
Just act very calm around it. and try not to scare it in any way.
The way to the heart is through the stomach as they say so feeding them for a while will help them learn to trust you. Keep your body low to the ground and talk softly to them when they come to eat. Eventually they will feel more trustful of you and you may be able to pet them while they eat.
Taming feral kittens is a delicate process and it's success rate depends on a number of factors including temperament and age. They older they are the harder it is to tame them.

First it's best to keep them in a small area. having a whole house to explore is overwhelming for kittens. I often start by keeping them in a bathroom or small bedroom. Ideally it should be a room without many areas for them to hide or anything for them to be hurt on. Kitten proof the room. They'll chew and climb on anything and can get through incredibly tiny areas.

Secondly if you have only had limited luck with taming the kitties it may be necessary to separate them. I have best luck with kittens if they are in pairs or solo. One wild kitty will help revert the others to a more feral state. In the room make sure they have a box with rags, towels, or blankets of some sort in a corner. It should be a dark and warm refuge and you should try your hardest not to reach in there after them. They need a place to retreat and feel safe. If the kitties are alone make sure they have a stuffed animal of some sort (with no small, hard swallowable eyes or noses for them to choke on) to cuddle with. Of course make sure they have access to kitten chow and fresh water at all times. And that they have things to play on and chew.

Now moving very slowly and quietly try feeding them pieces of shredded chicken or wet cat food on a spoon. Talk to them in a low soothing voice constantly while in the room. I often will sit in a room with kittens talking on the phone or with a friend just so they are used to my voice and realise that I'm not there to catch or pray on them. Once they are used to eating from you you may try to pet them lightly. Do not reach at them from the front as this is a very threatening gesture to cats. Also never stare at kittens, this is perceived as dominance or predatory. Try to avert your eyes often and keep your head tucked. Pet them from behind. You can even do this while they're eating. They will at first assume it is a mother or sibling grooming them. If they at any time hiss or recoil slowly withdraw and wait until they feel safer. try to spend at least 15 minutes with them each time you try this. If they don't want you to pet them try gradually moving your grip farther and farther up the spoon handle until they are practically touching you when they eat. This will get them used to your smell.

Once they let you pet them you can grasp them gently at the nape of their neck like their mother would. They have a nerve here that causes them to go limp. Don't pick them up any other way or support their bottom until they are socialised because in the wild only predators would do this and it will scare them. Once they accept you though they'll let you pick them up in a variety of ways. Lift them gently into your lap and and pet them there continuing to talk to them. Do not get discouraged if each time you try they seem to regress a little, they often work in two step forward one step back patterns. As they get more comfortable you can tie small crumpled pieces of untreated paper to strings and play cat chaser. Try not to let them bat your fingers as this developes into a bad habit. If they do get to rough with you simple hold them by their sides until they realise this is not acceptable.

Eventually you'll notice they run out to meet you every time you enter the room, they fall asleep on you, they follow you about. You'll know they adore you when they purr and show you their belly. Once they are socialised you can reintroduce them to their siblings. Also be sure once they're comfortable to expose them to as many different people as possible so that they don't form an overly strong attachment to you to the exclusion of others. This is particularly important if you plan to rehome them.

The key to kittens hearts is their stomach. Giving them a treat after each session will help things along but don't continue this for two long after they adjust to you or you'll overdo it and create whiny adult cats who always want a treat. Also, try to play with them as much as possible during the day and as little as possible during the night and make sure there is as little light as possible where they sleep at night. This will ensure that you have cats who want to play during the day and let you sleep at night.

As I said before this is a delicate and variable process. I've had kitties that I've had to spend a week feeding before they'd let me pet them without hissing at me. Some older kittens took weeks before they'd sit on my lap. My most recent two feral I socialised in an afternoon.

Finally, I know it's common sense but be sure to have them vaccinated at 6 weeks and spayed at 8 if you let them roam free outside or as late as 6 months if they are not going to be exposed to other cats.
leave some food out for it and have some treats and talk softly to the cat

thank you
If you can catch it, then catch it once a day. Pet it and talk sweet to it for a couple of minutes then put it back down.

Eventually it will know that you are not a threat and it will work up to being friendly. You really should try this with all three of them.

I did this with my former roommate's cat and after several months, she would even sit in my lap.
just entice them with food and water it will work trust me
Keep feeding it and don't make any sudden moves to scare it. Eventually it should get close enough for you to hold it. Then just keep petting it and holding it, even if it tries to get away. The food is key though, it will keep the kitten coming back.
Tuna is the best when it comes to this sort of thing. Kittens go crazy over it. Make sure you use the tuna in water and not the oil. When feeding it normally start moving the bowl each time you feed closer to you.

When the kittens hang around and eat when your sitting right there the next time you feed put your hand, palm up over the bowl and feed them out of your hand. While doing so they also pick up your smell.

Use your other hand and slowly move it closer to the kittens over top of them. Start with one finger and if they will let you, stroke the kitty from the neck down. Avoid the head. If they get scared and run, repeat this step the next feed. In a few days and some patience later you will have a lap full of kittens! Good Luck
If you are planning to keep the kitten you should spend some time in the area the kitten comes to. Just sit there, maybe with a little food near you or a bowl of milk or water. Speak softly to the kitten and do not make any moves to pick it up or chase it. Sitting on the ground..at the kittens level may help build some trust. If you want the kittens removed from your home there are several feral cat groups who will trap ( without harming) the kittens and relocate them. Hope this helps some. I have an outside cat who came as a kitten to our home, with a lot of time and being patient it has paid off with a loving, warm healthy cat. It has taken more than a year of slow teaching but the cat now comes when called and will allow us all to pet and care for it. Including baths and grooming.

I need advice first time tinting my car windows?

Is there anything I need to look out for?

And how to do it easier?I need advice first time tinting my car windows?
Follow the package directions to the letter. Make sure the pieces fit before applying. Most have a small gap at the edge. Use a squeegie, working from the center outwards to remove air bubbles. Read what chemicals can not be used to clean the film after installing. Most state not to use ammonia cleaners. Good luck.I need advice first time tinting my car windows?
Try this place for better answers. http://www.tintdude.com/
be prepared to spend a lot of time doing it to do it right, you have to get all the air bubbles out of the tint or it will look horrible.
Clean glass thoroughly.

Use plenty of soapy water and a very soft squeegee.

  • I need advice on travelling and living in Costa Rica?

I am planning on making a move to Costa Rica to possibly teach English. I am wondering if anyone has any advice or resources that may be of some use?I need advice on travelling and living in Costa Rica?
There is an America living in Costa Rica that actually has a really nice website full of tons of information on moving to CR.

    www.therealcostarica.com

I usually check this site before visiting for any health issues that i need to be aware of, but I've played around in the other stuff, and its a very comprehensive site.I need advice on travelling and living in Costa Rica?
Learning English has been very popular among Costa Ricans for decades, and still is one of the most attractive skills for locals. However it is very important for you to determine the realistic options that you will find specially based on the limitations that you will face if you do not have a Temporary Work Permit. My first advice is to make sure that you will be able to work legally in Costa Rica. In order for you to receive this legal status, you will have to demonstrate the qualifications and find a Costa Rican Language School to Sponsor you.
There are many English speaking North Americans (ie: USA, Canada) that have relocated and live in Costa Rica that offer first-hand information on what it is like, things to be aware of, things you must experience, etc.

As the author of one of these sites my only advice is to avoid sites with commercial interests in having you buy what they are selling ... being as the information given can be somewhat skewed.

The sources listed below are but some of the resources available for comprehensive, personal knowledge of Costa Rica from various points of view:
Getting the permission to work here it's really easy... Just don't give up...

If you have experience teaching, you will get a good job. It depends in which area you're gonna live, but the best high-schools or schools are located in San Jose and Heredia... You can apply for a job at this colleges.. Try:

    - Saint Francis

    - Saint Clare

    - Lincoln

    - Britanica

    - Country Day School

    - Blue Valley

I remember when I was in college, the year I learned the most was when I had an American teacher... One year later I had an English teacher... After those 2 years I got regular Costa Rican english teachers... But You cannot compare... Thanks for bringing your Native language to our country.. English is easy to read and write.. But it's really hard for people here when they have to talk.. Anyway

    Good Luck

Any advice for a new classroom assistant?

I have been working at a school (11-16) for about 5 years and I am moving jobs after the October half term to join the learning support team. I have experience with the Children but any advice you can offer me or hints and tips!Any advice for a new classroom assistant?
Protect yourself, this means be careful how you speak to the children, no touching even if you know they need a hug, never be alone with one pupil. Don/'t show any favouritism, give every pupil the same amount of attention. Be a team player by supporting your colleagues. Know exactly what is expected of you by asking questions of the staff you are working with. Above all enjoy the job and do it with the best of your ability and a sense of humour.Any advice for a new classroom assistant?
My best advice?? Listen Listen Listen!
Don't get to close to the kids, so they don't think you have a favorite. Be careful what you say and do, in this day and age you have to be careful of offending someone. Just keep it on a strictly professional level at all times without showing feelings. Never get emotional. I worked in the school system and this is what they were telling everyone. They wanted them focused on helping the kids, but not to have any emotions towards them because it kept the employees and the students ';separated'; in such a way so that there was no ';blending in'; with anyone person.
Never be in aclassroom with a single pupil , always make sure there are at least two.
give the buggers a bludy good clip round the earhole if they step out of line
get to know the student. as a student we all liked classroom assistents that were 'oright'. don't be strict otherwise no one will want any help off you, and i disagree with the above, it's great to get close, but with the entire group, that way you get loads of prezzies at the end of the year when they leave school =] and also, by getting close, they don't see you as a teacher, and more of a friend, so aren't all uptight around you like we are with teachers. patience is also a very good thing to have, there will be some complete prats, you need lots of patience for them.

My friends are thinking about sleeping together. What advice should i give them about contraception?

My friends are thinking about sleeping together (having sex!). I don't think it is a good idea, but i would like to tell them how to avoid a pregnancy resulting. What advice should i give them about contraception? My friends are thinking about sleeping together. What advice should i give them about contraception?
Hey Tasha Let em know Ur concerned like U said.My friends are thinking about sleeping together. What advice should i give them about contraception?
    tell your friend, ';Don't be silly! Wrap his Willy!';

Also how old are you as it doesn't sound like any of you are of legal age. The reason there is a legal age for sex is that you are not ready before the age of 16 to have sex as your body hasn't developed properly yet!
well i really don't think it's your place to tell them you don't approve cause it really isn't anything to do with you. a simple 'be safe' is the most you should really say or they may think you butting in!
Get your friend down to a clinic on the pill and get her bf to use condoms because then you have double the protection!!
I think that you should just be honest with them and tell them that you don't approve but that you hope there safe. I would really encourage you to talk with one or both of them about weather or not they really are ready. I had sex for the first time when I was 13 and now many years later I wish i had waited. Today I strongly believe that sex should take place within a committed relationship, if you can find someone you really love and they return that love then I don't think anyone has the right to tell you what to do. I think the whole of idea of laws telling you how old you have to be before you can have sex is ridiculous, laws like the ones mentioned by someone else are just one more facet of the obsession we seem to have in this country with keeping young people down. Every day more and more laws are passed or proposed taking these decisions out of the family where they belong and into the courts.
let them know that having sex i a big decision in their life and if you do want to go ahead and have sex then please get on birth control and please wear protection as in condoms also let them know that if this protection is not taken then you may end up becoming a parent and if you are not ready for that then i would highly suggest that you have safe sex

    Vicky
Tell them that PULLING OUT IS NOT A CONTRACEPTIVE METHOD OR ANY KIND OF METHOD!!

If they are younger than 16 tell them sex it's worth waiting for and that there is no rush.

If they are mature enough for sex they are mature enough to tell there parents and ask for advice on different types of protection etc. Also, they will be mature and responsible enough that if they did get pregnant, they wouldn't depend on anyone else for help!
Tell them you don't approve but say ';i hope u use protection';.
well wat about telling them about abstinence and that they should save it to lose it to someone very special or if they really want to have sex tell them to use protection like condom and pill hope this helps
    use a condom
tell them you dont think its a good idea and they should wait but if they dont be safe and make sure you know what your doing before you do somehting you will regrett%26lt;3
    Buy them some condoms
tell them this '; they already have a foot in the grave'; meaning that by deciding to have sex, they are half way to having a kid. reguardless if they know what it means it's a creepy saying, and idk if i would have sex after someone telling me that...
Tell them it will ruin their friendship and to wait for sex until marriage!

Legal advice needed on advertising a business on your own premises?

Hi, a friend of mine is a self employed builder. He has put up a proffesionally designed sign on his wall facing the road to advertise his building services. He has got a letter from the local council stating he is breaking laws and must take it down within 7 days or they are taking him to court.

Why does he have to take it down? What are the laws regarding this and how can he get round it?

Any advice would be very helpfull as you see peoples signs everywhere.Legal advice needed on advertising a business on your own premises?
It is because he is breaking planning regulations.

The current powers of local authorities over outdoor advertisements are set out in the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (principally sections 220-225) and the Town and Country Planning (Control of Advertisements) Regulations 1992. The legislation appears complex, especially on first reading. A good free summary, 'Outdoor Advertising and Signs, a Guide for Advertisers' was published by the Department of the Environment in 1989 and is currently under revision to incorporate the 1992 Regulations.

Some particularly relevant sections in the 1992 Regulations are the following:

Regulation 7, which gives the Secretary of State for the Environment the power to bring under direct planning control the display of any advertisements which normally do not require the Local Planning Authority's consent.

Regulation 8, which gives a Local Planning Authority powers to discontinue the display of an advertisement which initially did not need to obtain express consent.

Regulation 27, which defines liability and fines in cases of contravention of the Regulations.

Additional considerations relating to listed buildings and conservation areas are contained in the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990.

Under section 224(3) of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, any person who displays an advertisement in contravention of the 1992 Regulations shall be guilty of an offence. Under the provisions of the Criminal Justice Act 1991 and the Planning and Compensation Act 1991, such a person is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding 拢1,000 and 拢100 for each day during which the offence continues after conviction

Advertising is generally considered to be out of place in any predominantly

residential location and will not normally be allowed. However, carefully

designed and positioned advertisements may be allowed in some areas.

The following guidelines often apply, although local application does vary and you need to check with your local authority:

鈥?Advertisement panels and hoardings should generally not be located in

    predominantly residential areas or streets,

鈥?Advertisement panels and hoardings are inappropriate on wholly

residential buildings, or on the residential part of a building.

鈥?Poster advertising may be acceptable when it relates to the scale of

surrounding buildings and is not visually intrusive.Legal advice needed on advertising a business on your own premises?
I would go and see a solicitor about this, they should be able to say if putting up these signs is against council rulings.

Councils employ full time solicitors and it is unlikely they would would bring a case if they thought they would lose! i.e. if the solicitor employed by the council brings cases that lose he will get a bollocking from the employer!

With respect, you do not see these signs everwhere. I dont have a sign on my wall advertising a company, neither does anyone else I know of!

You ask ';how can he get around it'; . Go and see a solicitor.
    He put it where?

On his business site or his home?

On his home there is probably an ordinance against it. On his business maybe ,maybe not.

Down here you can operate a business from home as long as it does not create a traffic hazzard, which translates to ten or more cars a day. With a sign.

I have never seen such crap advice in all my life ! (Well, that's not strictly true !)

If your girlfriend genuinely wishes to pay a visit to the UK, then she should apply for a visitor's visa at the nearest British consulate. That is, if she does indeed need a visa at all ! She may well be issued a visa on arrival in this country. Best for her to check with her local British mission in Peru.

Provided she can satisfy the immigration officer - whether in Peru or at her point of entry - that her intention to stay here for only 3 - 4 weeks is genuine, then there should be no problem.
Andrew the complications of obtaining visitors visas for non eu nationals is a real headache.

Your friend would be very unlikely to obtain a visitors visa without you first travelling to Peru and meeting her.even then it is difficult.

You will need to provide all documentation to support her visa application, and she would need to prove to an entry clearance officer that she will return to Peru under the conditions of any visa granted.

It is a bit like being in a court of law, where you are guilty until you can prove yourself innocent.
well i am kinda going thru the same thing my husband is on mexico and i have to file a petetion 4 him to come here. are you ingaged? if so u can bring her here much faster and easier if you apply for what called a k3 visa u may wanna check the immigration website to get the costs but u can dew it urself it silly to hire a laywer unless ur case is more complicated than u can handle then hire one. but as far as ur girlfriend getting a visitor visa its called a b visa and she has to apply at the embassy where she resides and there is a cost of maybe 200 dollars but it may be different depending upon where she is. it takes around a month or so to process the approval and also read this ... i got it from the department of sate

Visa: A citizen of a foreign country, wishing to enter the U.S., generally must first obtain a visa, either a nonimmigrant visa for temporary stay, or an immigrant visa for permanent residence. Visa applicants will need to apply overseas, at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate, generally in their country of permanent residence. The type of visa you must have is defined by immigration law, and relates to the purpose of your travel. A visa allows a foreign citizen to travel to the United States port-of entry, and request permission of the U.S. immigration inspector to enter the U.S. Issuance of a visa does not guarantee entry to the United States. The CBP Officer at the port-of-entry determines whether you can be admitted and decides how long you can stay for any particular visit.

Any advice on how to get two young dogs to get along with a new kitten?

I have 2 Shelties (one just turned 1 years old and the other is 1 and half years old, so they are still very puppy like). I have 3 older cats (13, 14, and 18). The older cats preety much put the dogs in their place. In otherwords, the dogs know better than to mess with the cats. My older Sheltie (Emma) is very assertive and not shy at all (rare for a Sheltie). She also is unfortunately favored probably because she came first. She is very spoiled and knows how to get her way. She will not let Toby (the younger one) be pet or held if she's around. She will literally push him off your lap or squeeze her way in front of him. Emma is very protective of her treats (rawhide bones) and some toys. She will often get into fights with Toby which she starts. Toby has recently learned how to stick up for himself. On the otherhand, the two are the best of buddies and will cuddle and kiss each other. They love playing together. Emma can be preety violent with stuffed animals (cont'd)Any advice on how to get two young dogs to get along with a new kitten?
I haven't seen your continuation, but I already see some problems. While your dogs may still be ';puppy like'; Emma does not recognize YOU as Alpha Pack Leader. You need to train her on this. Dogs become demanding, offensive, BAD citizens in the pack if the human is not Alpha Pack Leader. Dogs are Pack Animals and YOU must be the Leader!!!

Emma should NOT be able to prevent YOU from giving your younger pup attention. If she's secure in her position as alpha dog, I would not expect her to be starting fights with Toby. If Toby is now standing up for himself, then be prepared as he's getting ready to challenge her for the position of Alpha Dog. Your dogs will fight until they determine which dog is Alpha over the other one.

Your initial question was how to get them to get along with the new kitten. Since the older cats know how to put the dogs in their place, I'd let them continue to deal with the dogs in their own way. Take the new kitten and hold it to let it know it is safe. Present it to the dogs rear end first. Dogs and cats are scent oriented and the senior animal should be respected as senior by having the newcomer presented rear first so the senior animal can sniff at will. This is how animals meet %26amp; greet. Senior animals get to sniff rears of less senior animals first.

    As to your addendum:

If you present the kitten the way I suggested, YOU are there to protect the kitten. Don't allow the dogs free access to the kitten till they have accepted the kit. I always plan on it taking a while, possibly as long as a week or two with Emma. Toby should accept the kit faster.

Emma doesn't sound like she's a good citizen. If that's the case, she should not be bred as she'd give her pups an aggressive attitude and that's not something you want to be breeding into pups. Her protective instincts as a new mother would make her MORE aggressive towards other Pack Members! If Emma as a new mother is agressive towards the cats, that's what the pups will learn.

Have you done the OFA and other testing that should be done to ensure you're not going to breed pups with genetic health problems? There's a lot you need to learn, if you have not yet done the research into what testing should be done before you consider breeding, and what care the mother and pups require.

If the other cats have not yet met the kit, you need to introduce it to them rear end first just as well, to indicate that you recognize them as senior to this new pack member. They won't take to the kit if they are jealous and see it as an intruder. My first cat took 2 years to accept my newer kitten.

If the Bengal you asked about is the exotic cat from the forests, I'd avoid adding that to the mix.Any advice on how to get two young dogs to get along with a new kitten?
    get rid of the cat..
Train them to like each other. That's what I would do.

Any advice on starting a salt water tank?

I have a 30 gallon freshwater tank now and all is hunky dorie. I ran across a great deal on another 30 gallon tank plus the stand (got both for 20 bucks) So I am thinking of starting a salt water tank because those fish are just simply gorgeous BUT I have know idea how to do it, what to start with, how to maintain it. Any help would be great. Thanks.Any advice on starting a salt water tank?
A 30 gallon is a good size for a starter tank. As others have said, a good book is your best resource. Since you apparently have some experience with freshwater, that can help with some of the basics.

The main differences you'll encounter are some of the added equipment that doesn't apply to freshwater, and the behavior and stocking of the fish.

Although the live rock is ';optional'; in a fish only tank, I'd still recommend it for the added biological filtration and to make natural ';caves'; where your fish can swim and hide. The rocks as well as the substrate should be composed of aragonite (shells or crushed coral) to help buffer the pH which should be kept 8.2-8.4.

You'll also need a hydrometer to mix the salt and water to the correct salinity (1.020-1.026 for fish, 1.024-1.026 if invertebrates present). Glass ones are more accurate, but more likely to break.

A protein skimmer is another item that can really help you out, but isn't absolutely required. This remove dissolved and fine particulate organics from the water that would other wise contribute to the ammonia, nitrite and nitrate in the tank.

Other than that, the equipment is essentially that found in freshwater. You'll need a heater, filter, lighting (a standard lighting system is fine for fish-only, but if you intend to keep photosynthetic invertebrates or macroalgae, you'll need to get something along the lines of a compact fluorescent or metal halide system).

As far as the fish, saltwater species tend to be more territorial and aggressive (although there are a few peaceful, schooling species), and they're more intolerant of poor water quality, so you generally can't stock as many fish as with a freshwater tank. To reduce aggression, do a bit of research on any species you intend to keep, and try to avoid stocking related aggressive or semi-aggressive fish, or fish with similar coloration or body shape.

I'll put a few links for you below. Good luck with the new tank.Any advice on starting a salt water tank?
Buy books on how to do it and ask your local pet shop for help That's what My dad did when he started a saltwater tank I don't know If 30 gallon is going to be big enough you won't be able to buy some of the big fish
stay with fresh... those $30 and up saltwater fish don't look so pretty going down the toilet.
I would start with a fish only saltwater tank, 30 gallons in minimum size, so your OK there. Fish only tank is easier to maintain and treat your fish, should they get sick! In a reef tank it is very difficult to treat sick fish, live rock is very sensitive and also very expensive($10.00 a pound) and needs special lighting that is very expensive! If you do a fish only tank I recommend using live sand, it has beneficial bacteria to help your cycle along( you will be able to add fish sooner). Also make sure you have an excellent power filter, power head or protein skimmer, hydro meter, saltwater test kit and salt mix. You should start with hardier fish, damsels are good but are territorial and should be added last, tangs are great also. Go to livelore.com to see saltwater fish profiles and compatibility charts! Good luck!
my first piece of advice is to research all the fish you want to keep buy books they are the most helpful because yo can go back and refresh your memory if you need to also go to google and search for free saltwater aquarium eboook and you will find everything you need to know
dont! trust me tried haveing a big fish tank, it gets so messy! and if its a big tank then it is so hard to keep clean. i wouldnt start a salt water tank unless you really want to.

Any advice or websites to establish a functional household budget?

I am 32 and clueless about budgeting. I feel like I make enough money to pay what I need to, but I always just break even. I do NOT indulge in luxuries. I want to be organized with my spending, but I dont know how to start. Do you know of any websites or other resources that are quick and to the point that might help me? Thank you!!!Any advice or websites to establish a functional household budget?
Check out expenseRegister.com. It is a free website and you can set up your budget, record and track expenses. It has some neat tools to create reports etc. It is free!Any advice or websites to establish a functional household budget?
You need a sheet of paper and a pen. At the top of the paper write down your income for the month. Begin listing how every penny will be spend/saved. Keep a running total down the page. At the bottom of the page, you should have nothing left. If you do, go back and assign that amount to something. Once this is done, treat the paper as a binding contract. You are not allowed to do anything with money unless the paper authorizes you to do so. If you need to make a change during the month, you MUST go back the the paper and make changes on paper before your spend a penny. It will take 3 or 4 months the get a good budget. You will be shocked how much you currently spend without noticing. The CRITICAL factor is forcing yourself to pay attention.
it is good that you realize your financial weakness and even more importantly want to do something about it.

Join the pension program if the place where you work has one. This is particularly good if they have matching funds. If they do try to go for the maximum for matching funds. You can save without getting the money into your hands.

I ran a search for you under the term financial budgeting and received some excellent sites, Read them, bookmark them, and use them.

    Good luck.
the first step to making a budget is to find out what you spend your money on -- every day for three months keep track of where ever penny goes -- yes i say penny (example say every morning you grab a cup of coffee at the corner to drink on the way to work cost 87 cents -- would have been cheaper if made at home) same way with utilities don't lump them together -- your might find you are ordering 30 dollars worth of movies on making 50 dollars worth of long distance calls a month -- during this period do not charge anything use cash if you have to pay cash you may pass on that 6 pack of beer and drink tap water instead -- than at the end of 90 days you will be able to tally up and see where your money went and sat down and make a realistic budget!!!
I got a site where I make money from buying from myself and others buying from me as well. If you had your own site you would repocket some of the money you spent on it and get the retail from the people that buy from your site. The more people that buy from your site and join your business the bigger percentage of money you get back on what you spent. I divide my money up in categories. Notice that I have built into my budget category lists for several areas where I'm putting money away for an emergency. Problems will happen. I plan for them.

I allocate money in a certain order. First I give a portion of my money away, because life is not just about me. Next I save a chunk of my money in two areas: Long term (or retirement) and short term emergency. Thank God, I have no debt at all. If you have debt though, I recommend that you pay it all off (except house) before you start saving for long term. Debt is a curse and it brings you down. After saving some money, I then allocate what's left over for general budget stuff.

A budget is worthless unless you have a practical way to actually implement it in real life. Here's a way to do it - after you do your budget and figure out how much you can spend each month after bills are paid, here's a thought on how to control your variable expense spending (dinners, entertainment, coffees, even groceries and gas) - get a debit card account separate from your checking account, load your budgeted amount for these categories at the beginning of the month, and then use the card. Don't touch your checking account. At the end of the month, do you have money left? If not, why not? Keep this up for a few months and you'll really start to see a difference in how you manage your spending - you'll know where your money is going. I heard about this system from a neighbor of mine and have been doing it myself. I got a prepaid card from Readydebit and it works for me. Hope this helps.

What advice you would like to give to the captains of England, New Zealand and West Indies team?

Happy Navaratri and eid mubarak to all of you. What advice you would like to give to the captains of England, New Zealand and West Indies team?
They know what to do. They must play their best.

England must be fed up of having to play the Aussies every day. They have won the Ashes, and looks like that is all they care for.

NZ is a good team. They had a bad time in Sl, but so did Pakistan. Only India survived the onslaught of SL conditions.

As for WI, may the good Lord help them! Such great players and no backing from the Board.

Who are we to advise them. They are Professional Players, know so much more than us, armchair players.

.What advice you would like to give to the captains of England, New Zealand and West Indies team?
England - I know Ashes is comparatively BIGGER than ODI series but ODIs is aren't that bad %26amp; guys, don't miss Freddie too much!

NW - Happens sometimes! SL wicket is one of the toughest wicket in the world. It's slow and SL's wonder ';spinners'; rule the grounds there. U guys are otherwise doing fine.

WI - All the players 've to contribute equally, only gayle or bravo or fiddle shouldn't be the ones contributing everytime!
England- bowl well, NZ- bat well, WI-end well.
    Run. Run for your lives.

  • Does anyone have any advice on taking care of turtles?

I just bought 2 small turtles.Right no I have them in a box with no top, some water, and a space where they can get out of the the water(its on an angle)If anyone can tell me what to feed them and if a special environment is needed that would be great!Does anyone have any advice on taking care of turtles?
It is important to do research before you get a baby turtle - if their setup is inadequate they can get sick very easily. You will also need to have plans to separate your turtles in due time. Turtles are not sociable animals and when housed together they can fight and even kill each other for territorially purposes.

*One turtle alone needs a 120+ gallon tank

*They need a canister filter - this is very important in maintaining a turtles health - I would recommend the Rena Filstar XP3 or XP4.

*You need a water heater and keep the water temps around 78-80.

*You would need a basking area with the basking temps being 10 degrees warmer than the water temps. The basking area needs a heat light as well as a separate UVB light over the basking area.

*For feeding you should feed vegetables, live plants (anacharis, hornwort, duckweed, frogbit), and protein (pellets, fish, snails, crickets). Feed every day when they are younger than a year old.. once older than a year than switch to every other day. As a baby 50% of their diet should be vegetables, when they are adults it should be 75%.

It is important not to include gravel in the tank as your turtle can become impacted and would need to seek medical attention.

It is also important to raise the water level as high as you can without allowing your turtle to escape. If your turtle isn't used to swimming in a lot of water you can gradually raise the water level every few days until they get strong enough to swim naturally. Aquatic turtles are meant to swim and need all the space and water they can get!

As for sexing them right now they are too young. Once a turtle matures you can tell the difference between them very easily. The males will have long front nails and a long thick tail. Females will have short nails and a thin tail.

Good luck to you!Does anyone have any advice on taking care of turtles?

Do you have any advice for Arizonans on how to handle the Chris Berman problem?

Well the Super Bowl is just around the corner, and Arizonans are terrified; Chris Berman is coming to down and everybody is afraid when his ridiculous schtick starts filling the air a noxious gas will unleash and wreak havoc on our fine city.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.Do you have any advice for Arizonans on how to handle the Chris Berman problem?
Chris Berman has turned into a pain. With his WHOOOOOP....every 2 seconds. His cute little names is OLD and Boring .His head has gotten to big and needs to tone it down. He WAS a favorite of mine now I turn it every time hes on ...WHOOOOOOP .....Its old Berman the Butt head !

As for Arizona's dilemma be happy you get a super bowl every other year(so it seems). Some of us would like a SB in our State or close just once. But Domes and warm weather is where the rich man lives.Do you have any advice for Arizonans on how to handle the Chris Berman problem?
There will not be a Chris Berman problem. I think this is a question problem. If you don't like him, don't watch ESPN. It is not rocket science or nuclear physics. Just don't put ESPN on your television. Problem (of which there isn't one) solved.

    Have a nice day.
Chris Berman is cool. Don't be hatin'.
Chris Berman is my boy. He is mad good.

What is the best advice you can give someone going into the airforce?

I am considering joining the air force and I dont want to get into something then find out its not what I was expecting. ThanksWhat is the best advice you can give someone going into the airforce?
Research pros and cons. Make sure what you learn in the Air Force will help you after you get out. Also remember the Air Force will keep you very busy during your enlistment. ( You will work 60 to 80 hours a week) You will be sent overseas for 15 to 18 months sometime during your 4 years. ( Do remember your military commitment is 8 years so it could be longer) Also remember the first year in the A/F will not be fun. Boot Camp and then Tech school. It is fast paced and causes much stress. Get through that and you have it made. Remember it's all about keeping those planes in the air. What is the best advice you can give someone going into the airforce?
Don't look for encouragement or support from your commander-in-chief.

Does anyone have some advice for a girl considering medical school?

I have many academic interests, but what spurs me most is medicine. More specifically, I want to be an obstetrician. I'm aware that women have a tougher time in this profession than men. I also know that the coursework is rigorous. Does anyone who is familiar with medical school have any advice or relevant information about it? What all does it entail? At what point do I declare a major? How difficult is the material? If you can answer any of these I would be grateful. Thanks for your time.Does anyone have some advice for a girl considering medical school?
if you are unsure about becoming an MD you could consider an RN then from there work to be a Midwife, this is a nurse practitioner. the stress of being a girl would be less this way and still a serious course load too, as well as a respected fieldDoes anyone have some advice for a girl considering medical school?
Good for you. Medicine can be very rewarding in many ways. Be careful about deciding on a specialty (like OB) so early. You haven't experienced all the options yet. Many of my classmates thought they wanted to be one thing only to end up as a heme/onc, dermatologist or something they had never heard of before (radiation oncologist). Women don't have a tougher time......everyone has a tough time. I'm not sure what stage of school your in but if it's high school, develope your interest in medicine. Join clubs that would seem appropriate and consider volunteering at a hospital (not nursing homes). If you still like the idea. Enter the best college you can. After the first semester of regular enrollment talk to your academic advisor about becoming a pre-med (you'll still need to pick a major). Ask what is the more common majors. It's usually microbio, chemistry, biology, etc. You can get into medical school as a political science major or even classic civ, etc with a premed added on but the enterance will be harder. There are several good books on strategies but there is no single perfect way to be assured of getting in to medical school. Study hard, get good grades and stay active in societies in college that are appropriate. If you work hard you can get in assuming usual intelligence. You don't have to be smart to be a doctor, you just can't be stupid. The smarter you are, the easier it is to get in. Medical school is tough, exausting, and hard on your life. After medical school (4 years) you apply for an internship and (usually) residency to determine your specialty. Only then do you have to make a decision on what to be. Residency is worse than medical school and at the beginning, tough on your ego (you think you know alot after medical school and in fact you do, it's just not enough). Residency last 2 to 9 years depending on speciality. Then you go out to save lives and stamp out disease (one patient at a time), try not to get sued too often and enjoy. It's a good life. Mostly it's very rewarding, you don't get bored much but is pretty demanding on you from that point onward. You'll be 28 years old if you go striaght through with a common 3 year residency. If you want money it's there but not enough for the effort in my opinion (go into dentistry or with less certainty business etc). My wife's a dentist and they make a lot more than we do right now. If you want to save lives all the time, go into sanitation, your garbage collector saves more lives by preventing disease than I can by trying to treat it in the ER all day (I went into emergency medicine). If you want to become a physician for the feeling that your doing good, have an interest in knowing how it all works, want to earn a stable fairly-good salary somewhere between $100K (Family Practice) to $2.2 milllion (super-specialitized opthalmologic surgeons) then medicine is great. I do not go to sleep at night wondering if my life makes a difference but I do wonder if there was a better and easier way. Best of luck.
I suggest you should declare your major ASAP. Medical school is always tough because of many (hard) classes that you need to take. However, if you already made up your mind about it, then good for you.
It's good that you are thinking about these questions now in undergrad. You don't have to declare a major soon...take your time and find a major that interests you. The timing of declaring your major won't reflect on your medical school admission...but there may be deadlines that your school has that you should meet. Your major could be anything: anthropology, public health, english, women's studies...anything that interests you. In order to get in to medical school you have to take some very specific courses in addition to whatever major you choose to do. Some of these courses may or may not overlap with your major (it all depends on what major you choose). These courses are compulsary for everyone who wants to apply to medical school, and are called 'pre-med' courses. You should look up what these courses are online, or talk to your school counsellor. Usually these courses include: english , calculus, biology, general chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, an upper level biology course, and maybe spanish.

One of the reasons you have to take all that course work is so that you can have an adequate background in the sciences to approach the human body in a scientific manner when in the medical school...medicine incorporates those various sciences to study the body. The second reason you have to take all that course work is because in order to apply for medical school you have to do the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT). The MCAT is to medical school what the SAT is to universities. People usually plan their course work so that they can take the MCAT in their junior year and then apply to medical schools in the senior year. The MCAT tests: physics, general chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, verbal reasoning, and writing. There is no math section (although you need to know math, not calculus, to do the physics section).

The coursework you have to do in undergrad is not all easy...like anything in life some of it will be easy for you and some of it difficult. You just have to persevere. And try your best to do good. Most importantly, choose a major that you will enjoy...contrary to common belief, medical schools do not care what major you did in undergrad...they only care about your sciences GPA and your overall GPA. But if you are interested in science then a science major will mean that you have to take less coursework because the premed courses that you have to take will overlap with the some of the courses required to complete your major.

In addition to your coursework, you have to do volunteer activities. Do something that you enjoy and that makes a difference in the community. You should also do some leadership activities. You have 4 years to do this in undergrad...make sure you have a solid resume of leadership and volunteer activities by the time you start to apply. There are times when really amazing leadership activities can overcome a low GPA or MCAT score to make a candidate appealing to a med school.

Additionally, make sure you get clinical experience...shadow a doctor at the local hospital, volunteer at a cancer ward or hospice or in an obstetric ward.

Lastly, make sure you enjoy your time in undergrad...it's a time to gain insights and find yourself and be a better person. This aspect will come out in your application, essay and interview with med schools. But other than than, undergrad is a time to expand your mind and be a better person...don't obsess with trying to get into med school. Rather, chart a plan for getting in to med school (course work, volunteer work, clinical experience, leadership activities, MCAT study) AND then around that organize yourself to do things that you like and will make you a better human being [e.g. take classes that you think are fun (like philosophy, logic, religion) or other activities (I don't mean drinking and getting stoned and wasting your life).

    Good luck.
why? its ur own interest, we cant help u build ur own interest...it depends on when u study it, u cant ask oh is it hard to study in medical school, if u love it, even hard work wont bring u down...
I would visit some of your local ob's that are women %26amp; see if they might have some advice for you....Would you be interested in becoming an EMT for your local community ambulance corp....that might give you some experience in some things...

Started a Equine class want to pursue career with animals any advice?

I am interest in animals. My question is there any advice for a gal just getting started how can I get experience and where do I start? Thanks in advance.Started a Equine class want to pursue career with animals any advice?
I agree with the first answer. Get your foot in the door by volunteering or finding a part-time job at a kennel or stable. The best way to learn is by actually being hands on, instead of just reading about it. The class you are taking will be a great start though! :) Good Luck!Started a Equine class want to pursue career with animals any advice?
Try to get a job at a vet either doing kennel work or reception. Also volunteering at a shelter gives you lots of experience.
I would start with volunteering because it looks exceptional on resumes. Then work your way up and become a vet assistant, or something along those lines.

Just keep your head up and strive to achieve your goals. Do your best!

Be professional. The airplane is your office. If you aren't sleeping with other crew already, DON'T START. Also, don't sleep with customers (unless you took the job expecting that such 'services' were a part of the deal). Inter-office romance can complicate things beyond belief. Keep your personal life OUT.

Be very thorough about your job, and try to understand every professional detail possible. • Can someone give me advice on how to best find my dog a new home?

Our dog - 3 year old Jack Russell female - is so aggressive toward our new baby, it is not going to be possible to keep her. We love her so much and want to find good advice on how to find her a great new home, without small kids. Any advice for this very sad task? Can someone give me advice on how to best find my dog a new home?
Jack russells are actually a working breed that need lots of activity, and I've seen many of them end up at shelters because the owners didn't realize what they were getting themselves into (they are cute, until they destroy the living room while you're at work). Being aggressive towards a new baby is definitely a reason to find another home for her, and I'm really sorry that you have to do so.

Check for a breed-specific Jack Russell rescue organization in your area. There are groups that find homes for breeds that they are familiar with, and I've worked with some fantastic organizations placing great danes, beagles, even senior dogs. To be fair to any potential new owner, let them know about the aggression towards the baby and the dog should be placed in a home without children. Good luck to you.Can someone give me advice on how to best find my dog a new home?
Put a flyer up at your vet's office. Don't be affraid to ask the new owners a lot of questions to make sure it's a good home.
Look for a Jack Russell rescue group...they will take her and place her in a home suitable for her behavior/hang-ups
You could find an animal charity where they will find a good home for her. You would need to tell them that she is aggressive towards children and not to go to a home with children.

    Good Luck!
Most breed clubs have a welfare department that will try to re-home dogs. Also, try your friends. It is a shame when this happens, but not worth the risk if you feel you can't manage it.
First, I would see if a trainer can help you.

It is possible to train dogs to accept new baby. Many dogs have to be trained like that, as they see the baby as an intruder in their turf.

It is unfair to the dog not to do all that you can to see if it can work (of coarse baby safety comes first, but you can keep the dog away from the baby while she is being trained)

If that doesn't work, contact your local jack russel rescue group for help re-homing her.

I am planning on moving to Dallas or a surrounding area. Any advice on places to live?

I need a nice, affordable, safe apartment. Roommates are an option.I am planning on moving to Dallas or a surrounding area. Any advice on places to live?
well right now it would be best to live in the suburbs, but you will need a car if you move into the suburbs of fort worth. Because the pub transpo doesn't go into those areas. however you can catch the train to dallas and most of the suburbs of dallas have pub transpo.

cheap and safe in fort worth and surrounding areas ( 30 mins from dallas)

Mansfield extremley cheap town homes two bed rooms are 600 and you have a backyard they are nice in a quiet area. the apartments are expensive though 650 for as one bedroom but it's spacious and luxurios with many amenities.

DON';T move to Arlington if you are going to live in an apartment it's a nice city to party in but it's dangeorous unless you stay on campus UTA but still two people get killed on campus a year and countless other abducted and stabbed and robbed.

Euless and grapevine are nice areas with cheap apartments. one bedrooms in euless range from 440- 520. Euless is really quite.

Centreport area. Five minutes from DFW airport quiet but the noise of planes, but I grew up there and it really doesn't bother you. one bedrooms in centre port range from 470- 650. In grapevine one bedrooms range from 550-700. but they are very luxiourous and spacious as well. grapevine is a very rich area.

    Dallas and surrounding areas

Dallas is wayyyy more expensive than tarrant county and surrounding areas.

Irving near DFW area port in the center of dallas and fortworth It's a good central location. If you live in an apartment stay on the north side of Irving. Unless you live on the southside of valley view road 10 mins from centre port. In irving the prices vary the lowest being 380 ( I wouldn't recommend living there though, it's not unsafe but you can have better quality for a little more) to 1500 for a one bedroom. Irving is where the Cowboys ( football team NFL) practice and live so the closer you get to them the more expensive but the again it's very luxourious you get your money's worth. The area near the football camp is called las colinas and valley ranch it is still actually Irving though, It is the North side of Irving.

    Grandpraire

it's okay in grandpraire. the one bedrooms start at 550-700. be careful in this area there are lots of sex offender in Grandpraire for some reason, but still the crime rate isn't that bad, only if you move into the worng apartments. so if they don't have a gate and the rent is cheap just say no!

    Mesquite/Addison/Plano/ North Dallas/ Uptown/ Frisco

This are good areas near dallas ans in dallas. but they are expensive and the apartments are small in comparison to the other places I've listed. Unless you want to overpay for hosing let these places be the last place you go unless you have to be in a very metropolitan urban chic area. then this would be the only places I recommend for you.

Uptown is nice very urban life. near downtown, convience , one bedrooms can go from 1000- .... because some of them are condos and penthouses so the price range can reach triple digits. you may be able to get a one bedroom for 800. dallas and surronding areas are notorious for slashing rent prices dramatically but then rising them after you lease is up. but the special are monthly so its a right place right time thing.. in the spring and winter the prices of apartments fall in this area so although I quoted prices you may get lower prices if they have a special you can only get those prices if you come in though.

Forgot Cedar Hill nice area developing most apartments are new ( built with in the last five years) metropolitan-suburban area safe. Not far from downtown.I am planning on moving to Dallas or a surrounding area. Any advice on places to live?
1st poster is right. - I live in Wylie, it's nice.

Plano is good though too, it's close to the freeways, lots to do, cheap rents. (Far North Dallas is good too, that's the Plano/Dallas border).

I am from Los Angeles, so this place is heaven to me! When I moved here, I lived in Far North Dallas. I was single, lived alone, my apt. was 800 sq. ft and only $555.00 per month!!!!!!!! Now that I am married, with two kids, Wylie is best for us.

    good luck!
Do you need to live in Dallas? Some of the surrounding towns are a lot better. What ever you do stay out of Oak Cliff. Depending on your commute Cedar Hill, some parts of Arlington, Irving, or even Fort Worth are nice. Plano and Garland, along with Lake Worth and Trophy Club are pricey. I have lived in the area for 12 years now. Good luck on your move.
Dallas is spread out, big time. The roads are terrible. The drivers borderline psychotic.

All that said because you did not give enough information. Will you drive to work? Need schools and/or daycare? Where will you work (geographic location, not company name)? Budget? Friends and/or family in the area?

Knowing nothing I'd say look at Las Colinas. But, that could be way off given the answers to the above.
If you have kids and want to be around great school Wylie Tx is the best outer surrounding town there is to offer. Not only that but the employment rate is on the rise and the housing market is great. A whole lot of house for little money. Wylie is about 35 min north of I-20 and dallas.

Can anyone give me advice on what subwoofer encloser to purchase?

I have an ecllipse cd1000 unit, with 4 front, and rear speakers, also ive just purcahsed 2 10'' subs from eclipse, but I cant find an enclosure for anything. What type of enclosure should I be looking for. I also just purchased an eclipse amp for the subs. Can anyone give me advice on what subwoofer encloser to purchase?
Eclipse will have recommendations for enclosure types and sizes. If you can't find one, build one. Here is the basics on what's involved and the different types of enclosures and what they do:

    http://spkrbox1.spaces.live.com

Look for the program WinISD Pro from linear team as it will help you design an enclosure.

Some pro audio shops will also design and build one for you as well. Custom fit is always best. Can anyone give me advice on what subwoofer encloser to purchase?
Go for sealed box accordingly to your sub requirement
    Contact 702 Motoring.
cardomain.com/store has universal enclosures as well as vehicle specific. they also have a great glossary function. try there.
it depends on what you listen to for music. Rock sounds best in a small sealed enclosure while rap sounds best in a vented or bandpass box.

I have recently found out that my girlfriend has anorexia nervosa. Any advice as to what i should do to help?

I would like to be able to help her out but i have no idea whatsoever what to do. I would be amazingly grateful if anybody could offer advice to help me to help her from personal experience. Many thanks in advance.I have recently found out that my girlfriend has anorexia nervosa. Any advice as to what i should do to help?
Always tell her she looks pretty and try to support her as much as possible. Make her feel good about herself so that she isn't afraid to put on weight. Go with her to the doctors, be interested and show her that you care.

Good LuckI have recently found out that my girlfriend has anorexia nervosa. Any advice as to what i should do to help?
When I was in the 8th grade I went through the phase of the whole anorexia (it tends to happen when you hang out with smaller girls). The best thing to do in this case the best thing to do is talk to someone that you and her both trust and have them talk to her and help get her the help that she needs...If she has already gone to a doctor then support her and let her know that she is perfect the way that she is and that no matter what that you are going to be there for her...Also try being around her and taking her to places to eat: start small with salads, fruits, etc. and then slowly work up...If none of this seems to work then there are counseling facilities that will admit her and force feed her if need be and she wont be able to get out until she has recovered... Be honest with her and let her know that you are worried and that she has to do something because you are not going to watch her kill herself and that she has to pick to help herself or that you are gone...I know that this sounds mean but it's not fair to you and if she loves you she will get the help and realize that you do love her and be grateful that you stuck by her during one of her hardest times.
Give her time to develop enough courage to open up and talk to you. Don't judge her, don't tell her to ';just eat';... It's not that simple unfortunately. But the most important thing you can do for her, is to become her # 1 listener... If you don't judge her, then she will slowly, but surely open up to you in a way that she cannot open up to anyone else... That being said, remember that many people become anorexic b/c it is something they are in control of in their lives... In other words, you should look to find what is the root of her problems leading her to suffer from anorexia nervosa... Patience is key, and together as a team, if you make her feel special, understood, and not judged, the both of you can overcome this.
All you can do is be there to support her. Don't shy away from asking very direct questions about how she's feeling, what she's eating etc so that the stigma is removed from the illness for her. She has to be in control of this illness and you have to let her be in control of how she manages it, it's not easy but you have to go at her pace. Don't avoid the issue though and you'll need to press her a bit to talk about it, otherwise she may just retreat into her shell and become more secretive. Good on you for being so supportive, most girls would love that kind of support as many guys leave at the first sign of this illness. Best wishes to you both.
You sound like a really caring person, and that is what she will need. Simply being there for her, so she knows she is not alone in the world.

Don't try and push food on her, this will only upset her, and make her feel pressured. And don't remark on her physical appearance, either good or negative comments. Praise her for who she is instead. Of course, if she asks, be as honest as possible, but gently. Ultimately it is up to her to change and recover from this disease.

You can help by being there for her, making sure she knows that she is loved.
well the most common cause of anorexia is depression so most are prescribed anti depressants. but if you surf the internet you will see that a lot of research say that antidepressants do not improve the general condition of the patient.

the first thing you should so i think is immediate weight gain for her. give her foods high in carbs and protein. give her a few weeks and if her condition worsens, then hospitalization is needed. psychotherapy is helpful.

plus, Zinc supplementation is very helpful. most patients double their weight after one week after taking it daily.

    that's it i guess

    good luck
just support her the best you can , it is a difficult thing to recover from and she will need as much help as possible

    also

    never

FORCE her to eat , as it doesnt help , one tactic which can help is eat the same as she does for like a day

seeing someone eat what they actually eat can sometimes be a bit of a reality check and often can help on the road to recovery
anorexia nervosa, get her to a doctor so she is on a diet that allow her to gain weight and it helps if you tell her shes to skiny and need more weight so she starts to eat more to get back to normal
Read up on it and get yourself some ideas of what to expect. If you really love her let her come to you and always be there for her. Good luck to you both

I am a young actress and I find experience a lot of anxiety leading up to auditions and callbacks?Any advice?

It usually begins in the hour leading up to an audition. My stomach begins to feel queasy, my legs go weak, and my heart starts racing. Sometimes I consider canceling the audition. Outwardly I can maintain a facade of confidence and calmness, but inside it's a different story! Strangely, once an audition or callback

gets underway, I start to relax and open up, and realize it isn't so bad after all. Still, I'd really like to conquer those waiting room fears. Advice from other actors on how they cope with nerves would be really appreciated!I am a young actress and I find experience a lot of anxiety leading up to auditions and callbacks?Any advice?
Well, you have to do two things. First of all don/t care about the audition so much. There will be tons of them and most you wont get. Therefore, Second, you need to approach acting more easily. Look at each audition and call back as an opportunity to have fun, that is what acting is after all, playing and having fun. Each audition and call back is another chance to have fun. So do that. DocI am a young actress and I find experience a lot of anxiety leading up to auditions and callbacks?Any advice?
i know it sounds cheesy, but take very deep breaths, and close your eyes.

    think ';if i go great, then great! If i blow it they will never remember me anyway and i will learn a lesson';

also, as long as you have your lines well memorized, forget it all right before you go in. do not be going over your lines in your head again and again in the waiting room; this will make you extremely anxious.

i read this somewhere: when your in a waiting room, and you are feeling fearful, turn that fear into anger. anger about anything in the world. from then, anger can be easily turned into amazing energy, which will make a great performance.
Just breathe, and tell yourself that whatever happens will happen, and you just have to try your best and know that things will work out for the best in the end, whether you get in or not!!! And just try to calm down and remind yourself that acting is what you love!!!!!
Go into the audition as if you already have the job. Don't tell yourself your auditioning, tell yourself you are performing. There's an underlying confidence that takes over when you do this. And if the nerves are still there...just use them. Breathe into them, let them fill you up, do a rag doll (who cares what you look like to anyone else in the room, they'll only be thinking, ';Oh, she/he seems really confident cause she doesn't care what she looks like.';). Sounds really strange...but it's true.

And smile...at everyone...say hi, break the tension. You'll find your own way to handle all of this as you keep auditioning, but these are just some things to try for now.

    All the best to you!

  • Please give me some advice/tips on choosing a great doctor?

I've decided to find a new primary care physician. When I choose doctors, I normally look for several things: education, how many years the've been practicing, any complaints/malpractice suits, etc. Is there anything else I should explore? Please give me some advice/tips on choosing a great doctor?
Make sure you are comfortable...The flow and enviornment should be soothing...not make you scared or uncomfortable...Also, take a glance at their cleanliness...I work in the dental field and I have been to many offices that shouldn't even be running...Sterilization techniques, room cleanliness, doctor's appearance...little stuff like that can tell alot...Please give me some advice/tips on choosing a great doctor?
First of all , you have to see, that doctor must be MD, and famous in his/her profetion . Must be near to you, so that you can reach him/her comfertably , and you can trust on him/her.
I heard to look for a young doc fresh out of med school just cuz he doesnt know all the tricks to get u out of the office quick. Newbies tend to spend more time with their patients and listen more.
Ultimately, the guy who graduated last in his class is still called doctor. Your primary makes most of his/her diagnoses based on the reports of tests and diagnoses of specialists that you are referred to. While your search should include those criteria mentioned above, ask around. The best way to find a good doc is word of mouth advertising. Especially if he/she is the kind of doc who spends some time with you. Good Luck

Does anyone have any advice on online graduate programs in anthropology?

I'm planning on pursuing a doctorate in anthropology with the ultimate goal of teaching at a university. I'd appreciate any advice you may have.Does anyone have any advice on online graduate programs in anthropology?
I won't go so far as to say that online graduate programs in anthropology (or any social science, for that matter) are completely useless, but no university is going to fill an academic position with someone whose degree was earned over the internet. A significant portion of a standard graduate education is the personal interaction with professors and other students, particularly (from the perspective of someone looking to hire you as a teacher) the opportunity to teach undergraduates. The best scholars in any field generally work at major research universities which do not offer online coursework, and there are plenty of people turned away from positions despite having degrees from well-respected institutions, so it would be hard to get a leg up on them. Access to a good library and other information resources that aren't available online is a very important part of generating a significant piece of research yourself, which is what a ph.d. is all about.

Can someone give me advice on how to best find my dog a new home?

Having a MBA why to be a bartender, is there something else you can get here? How to get a professional job in miami? do you have an advice?
An MBA doesn't get you the job of your dreams. Only the doorstep. You have to empower yourself to catapult past the competition with your confidence, style, professionalism, and earnist desire to be the best. Can someone give me advice for trying out for volleyball?

Im going to try out for volleyball for my freshman year.

Can someone give me some tips and advice? Can someone give me advice for trying out for volleyball?
Be a go getter. As a coach, I always appreciate the first person in a drill, the first person at practice, the first person back from getting a drink etc. And hustle. Walking is one of the most irritating things a player can do! I've not played girls because they walk around and play the girls i know will hustle after everything. Also, don't be afraid of the floor or the ball and never ever catch the volleyball unless instructed to do so. This just rubs coaches the wrong way. But try not to overdo it, if you just hustle between drills and show up early and do as your told, this will work but if you become a suck up, you'll lose the respect of your possible teammates. And don't ever ask what you're doing in practice or when you'll know about cuts etc..

As for skills, look into some volleyball camps for the summer. Some local colleges or universitys will probably have some pretty good options for your age. If you have a volleyball or can buy one/borrow one, try to just touch it everyday. You can just sit on the floor in the living room while watching tv and set the ball. Or go outside and hit it against the side of the house.

For being in shape, just don't become lazy over the summer and you'll be fine. At your age, you should be in pretty good shape so just stay active over the summer. As volleyball season gets closer, try jogging a mile or 2 everyday and put some sprints in there. You will be sore during the first week no matter what but if you work hard and stay with it, you'll feel better after wednesday and hopefully make the team!

Good luck! Can someone give me advice for trying out for volleyball?
Work hard and do a lot of squats...
make sure you know how to over hand serve a ball. you also need to know how to fore arm pass and over head pass( or set)

and get knee pads. coaches look for people who are willing to dive across the floor to save a ball and keep it in play.

depending on you height you may need to know how to spike too.

you can go through out yahoo to find answers on how to spike, serve, and hit better.

goog luck! im sure you will make it. its not a big deal just stay calm and play the game
Ok so for your first tryout you are going to be really nervous.....don't be!!! If you are nervous then it will be a lot rougher road; you have got to have confidence in yourself and you will do great!! In tryouts hustle in everything that you do!! Hustle in the drills, or even if it is just going after the ball...you run!! Always smile even when you are down on yourself, and be supportive of other people when they mess up or do something good!! That will show leadership to your coach!! And most of all do what your coach says with a OK and do not mouth, and do not complain when you run or do a hard drill!! Other than that do your best and have fun!!!!!!!!

    Good Luck on tryouts!!!!!!! ;-)
wall sits, putting weights on your ankles and doing you appraoch it makes you jump higher, ball handling, like getting a vball and setting to yourself and passing

    Hello

I understand how hard it is hard trying to find financial reports for companies. I finished my business management degree last year and had the same problems.

This site may help. it was the best one I could find without paying.

    http://www.francetelecom.com/en/group/de鈥?/a>

    http://website.lineone.net/~tim_li/pgora鈥?/a> (Might be too old)

Good Luck, sorry if this don't help much!!
PLC, public listed companies, sell there shares publicly and generally are very large companies. A legal requirement of being a PLC is that you must publish your annual accounts and report. You can buy any companies reports from companies house for a fee (generally cheaper than Dunn %26amp; Bradstreet). Their website is:- http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/.

However, companies that are PLC's are usually large companies that have a website. Generally they want their shareholders and future ones to be able to obtain information easily, seeing as those its available anyway, so often put it on their website. Look for corporate info and then annual report.
Dun and Bradstreet carries some financial info, however, you'll have to show at least which state this company is in.
Ask them directly. let them know why you need them.
