Advice about a home remedy for dandruff?

I've had bad dandruff since around the time puberty started. Head and Shoulders works only so much- I still have flakes and my scalp is still itchy like mad. Tonight, I had enough and researched home remedies for dandruff, and found a simple one of using vinegar. I tried it, and so far so good. My scalp isn't itching as it normally does after washing my hair with Head and Shoulders.

My question is, however, how harmful is this to my hair, if at all? How often should I do this to minimize any potential damage? Thanks.

A few remedies that you can try at home are:

- Apply coconut oil on your scalp and leave it for an hour. After an hour, apply lemon juice and massage your scalp. Leave it on for another hour, and then shampoo your hair with a mild shampoo. This will leave your hair shiny and without any dandruff flakes.

- Take an egg, beat it and apply on the scalp and leave it for an hour. Shampoo your hair and you will find that the dandruff has disappeared.Advice about a home remedy for dandruff?
I've used apple cidar vinegar a few times, smells awful lol. It's supposed to help balance the ph, that's why it's supposed to work for that. Another thing to try is some tea tree oil, a few drops in your shampoo. Just use a good conditioner on your ends. Here's the site I like using for home remedies, doesn't say how often to use it, I would say every other day until it's under control, then a few times a week for maintenance. Just massage it into your scalp, not all your hair.

Not sure if this will go right to the page, may have to search around a bit, but it's easy to navigate:

Believe it or not Mayonnaise is a very good remedy. It will make your hair shiny and healthy as well as moisturize your scalp. good luck...
It's not harmful at all, it just helps the shampoo rinse away better. I use head and shoulders too, the intensive treatment, and I also use pantene conditioner. It has worked very well. For bad times try Nutragena T-Gel. It's a more expensive one but works wonders. Dermatologists usually prescribe it or at least recommend it. Another remedy is using Tea Tree Oil. You can find this in any beauty supply store where the acrylic nail supplies are. It kills and prevents fungus. Dandruff is caused by a fungus. Mix about a teaspoon into your shampoo and rinse normally. It will burn if you have open scabs and it smells funny but also works very very well.

Good luck.
I can't stand Head and Shoulders. But thats my opinion. [:

Anyway, I reckon you could use the vinegar about 2 or 3 times a week. But not every night.

Vinegar is great for dandruff too (well, duh).

Here are some other remidies for dandruff that you could try;

Best of luck [:
Organic Apple Cider Vinegar(ACV) the best!!! Rinse your hair with a half and half solution with water. As your problem improves,(and it WILL), go to one third ACV and two thirds water. The vinegar works primarily due to it's acidic content.
I kinda have the same problem but not as bad as yours. I use coconut oil which u can get probably at a grocery store or some kind or herbal store. You put a lot on and rub it in so your scalp can get moisture cause right now it seems dry. These shampos are all chemicals and dumb. I use coconut oil and soak it on my scalp in the mornings on weekends so it stays on my hair all day. Doing it on weekdays is kinda dumb cause of school or work and nights are not good since it will rub off on your pillows at night.
A herbal rinse is a safe method of removing dandruff. Apply lemon juice with the rind on the scalp .After 5 minutes wash off with shampoo and water. More simple remedies at http://usefulinfo-dandruff.blogspot.com/

Advice on a retired person converting from a traditional IRA to a Roth?

I have a traditional IRA (about 40K) that I am thinking of converting to a Roth IRA. I am retired and about 3 years away from mandatory IRA withdrawals. Knowing full well that I will take a tax hit if I do this, is it a good idea to do this and just let the money grow tax free or should I just steel myself to mandatory yearly withdrawals at age 70 1/2, I can afford the tax hit and my taxable income in 2007 was approx 37K. ThxAdvice on a retired person converting from a traditional IRA to a Roth?
If you have the money in non-tax deferred accounts to pay the taxes on the Roth conversion, then go ahead and make the conversion to the Roth. Don't convert more than what would put you into the 28% bracket.

According to the Motley Fool:

You can find Roth IRA conversion ';calculators'; all over the Web to help you with your decision (test several or read reviews first to make sure the calculator you use matches your personal situation best -- not all calculators are created equal). We have IRA calculators to help you chose between a regular IRA and a Roth IRA and decide whether to convert an IRA into a Roth IRA:

Sheesh, this is too important to trust to a random bunch of people answering questions on YA because they have nothing better to do!! Find a financial adviser!
If you are three years away from mandatory withdrawals, just let it set and take minimum withdrawals when you have to.
Assuming you will have less taxable income after you retire (most, but not all do) the answer given by Wartz is correct.

If your tax bracket will be the same or lower after you retire, it would cost you more (both in real dollars and the time value of money) to pay the tax now. Only if you will be in a higher bracket after you retire would your plan be to your benefit.

I am 34 years old and have a hyper pigmented spots on the face pl advice for home remedies?

I am 34 years old and have hyper pigmented spots on the face.I am getting irrited very soon even on the small small things.I am 34 years old and have a hyper pigmented spots on the face pl advice for home remedies?
This is a safe, permanent cure and it麓s using low cost natural oils which are only beneficial to the skin. It worked wonders at ridding me of pigmentations, dicolorations, sun damage, a mass of freckle, pimples and scars, large pores, brown spots, countless other conditions and even a large mole and eventually gave me a blemish free healthy skin. And it has helped many others - see my many Best Answers(acne scars, discolorations, etc.) and responses from users.

Use a natural oil - olive oils work really well and are particularly good for oily skin that is prone to acne, etc.(do a web search ';Olive oil a beneficial treatment for acne, oily skin?';) Massage over and over with a quite strong, vigorous motion (the more vigorous the better). Better to use a '; to and fro'; action not a circular one using finger tips or sides and front of fingers depending where on face you massage. You will find you can make it more vigorous and can massage for longer periods as you progress (build up to 30 min a session for best results). It麓s the massaging friction that forces a fresh, clearer skin to eventually emerge. Initially, the skin has to adjust and if soreness, breakouts or other reactions happen - skin might expel poisons that need to be expelled - then stop and resume when you can. You have to find the pace that works for you - it's different for every person. In about 3 - 5 days - depending on how vigorously and for how long you have been able to make the massage - you should start to see noticeable results. Keep it up and in 10 to 15 days you will see more noticable results. It also gives skin a radiantly healthy glow and is very effective treatment for tightening and rejuvenating skin. The oil quickly absorbs into skin so it is best to splash face with water and dab dry any excess with tissues or an old towel. You will not need to use any other treatment ever again! Also, as olive oil is a natural moisturizer you will not need to use any other. Some skin clinics may tell you to only massage gently but this treatment has only been beneficial to the many who have tried it. Try it - you will be happy that you did! It really works.

What's ';hyper pigmented';.?
well,

I am somewhat going through the same thing,

only, I'm fifteen,

and I have acne scars,

somewhat of the same thing no?

it irritates you, its there, its visable.

What I ended up doing,

is using NEUTROGENA's WAVE.

i've used it for three days, and the scars I had were not visable, unless you squinted, or got right in my face.

little by little its going away, but it made a BIG difference to me.

and, there's also special creams for that, like I'm using

Palmer's Skin Success Eventone ultra fade serum.

its the strongest of the three ';cream, milk, serum'; and especially for the face, hands and neck if I recall.

hope it helps.

I am going to start traveling as a dialysis RN. Anyone have any words of advice on this?

I am a dialysis RN and my family and I are thinking of traveling. I have two little ones and my husband will be able to work out of the house whereever we go. Anyone have any suggestions or advice on this?I am going to start traveling as a dialysis RN. Anyone have any words of advice on this?
traveling w/ the family can pretty rough. You can run into housing problems and pay issues. Make sure you've researched your company through and through. I've been traveling for over two years now and have had some great experiences, but have also been through some pretty rough times arguing over benefits and housing. Good luckI am going to start traveling as a dialysis RN. Anyone have any words of advice on this?
That is a difficult situation, but it sounds like you have the childcare thing and schedules worked out. Good luck. I had a friend who worked PRN on a traveling basis and it was difficult for her, even though she had schedule flexibility, it didn't always work with her husband's schedule, and after a while, he felt slighted because he never got any quality time.

Thinking about getting a Dodge Charger any advice?

I love the look of the Dodge Chargers, but I have had lots of bad experiences with BRAND NEW Dodges, I am afraid of getting something that will fall apart in a few years. Has anyone had any experience with the charger, does it have any bad qualities, and how is it on gas milage.Thinking about getting a Dodge Charger any advice?
the charger is a pretty good car, they have experienced problems with transmissions, and other problems though, all cars have some problems, their not good on gas at all ,Chrysler has not the got the gas mileage thing figured out yet,i service a few though and most of them are doing ok,the most complaints i hear on those is the gas mileage especially with gas being the price it is now,i have had a few with electrical problems also that had to go back to the dealer,so use good judgment on this, good luck.Thinking about getting a Dodge Charger any advice?
My uncles are both mechanics and I am getting into the business of car and all I heard about the Charger that is a great car. Gas milage could be better but other than that they are worth the $ for them. I would say before you get it test drive it, get the feel, if you like it, go for it.

enjoy your charger.
I don't know anything about the Charger, but I'm recalling with some bitterness how Chrysler managed to build paint-repellant cars for a few years, and refused to ever issue a recall on it. My car had advanced auto eczema. Never buying Chrysler anything again.
Not the best on gas mileage however does have horsepower. I havent had any problems with mine yet. I suggest you test drive it and if you like the way it drives buy it. Mine is absolutely great and I LOVE IT. HEMI!!!!
i sell them and havent heard anything wrong yet.the quality is a lot better now and with a lifetime warranty you cant go wrong.remember toyota is having big problems now with their trucks and no recalls
They are decent in reliability, but get a Pontiac G8 instead. They are faster and look better(IMO) than the Chargers.
Save your money and get a Challenger when it comes out.

  • Hello, thank you in advance for the advice. How possible is it for someone to sell your car without?

you knowing. Long story short, I have a car that's over 30 years old at my folks house. My brother is mentally ill (seriously), and threatens to sell my car over some bet (I don't know what he's talking about). My parents are too old to stop or follow him, so my question is can he forge my name on a bill of sale, even though the car is registered and insured to me?Hello, thank you in advance for the advice. How possible is it for someone to sell your car without?
Yes, he can forge your name and sell the car ';as is'; without title. Would it be legal? no. You would have to report his theft, and the car as stolen, if you have a title to prove ownership.

Would it be difficult for you to find out who it was to, and get the car back? Possibly. here's where your problem would be. If you have no title, you would need something to prove your possession. Even if you did have a title, stolen cars can easily be hidden. Cars before the 17 digit VIN became standard can be difficult to trace in the system. The new owner may not even know your brother didnt have rightful title. They may plan on restoring it, and have it in a garage for years for the process. If they arent interested in immediately registering it, it wouldnt matter if you have registration. It could also be parted out without registration.

Move it, if you are unsure of its safety.Hello, thank you in advance for the advice. How possible is it for someone to sell your car without?
If your brother forges your name, you can press charges for auto theft, and you can get the car back because you never sold the car.

If it were me, I would move the car away from your parent's house, and store it somewhere away from your brother
If your brother does not have the title on the vehicle, the buyer might not even be interested. If he forge your signature on the bill of sale and the title then you have the right to sue him and take it to court. Legally he can not sell your car if it is in your name.
Not legally he can't. The only way he would be able to is if his name is on the title. If that's the case... If it is listed as ';your brother'; and ';you';, both signatures are required. If it's listed as OR, he can.

Looking for a tintable cake glaze, any advice?

I'm trying my hand at decorating and want a recipe for a glaze, gelatin or icing that can be tinted a nice deep blue. I am looking to create a glossy ';water/pond'; effect for a project I'm tinkering with and the only recipes I find are opaque. Any links or advice are highly appreciated.Looking for a tintable cake glaze, any advice?
Depending on what you are tinkering with you, can use the blue candy mints. I don't know what the are called, but the come in the peppermint party bag. they are usually the ones no one eats. or you can use blue cough drops. Or melt a blue sucker. Or make hard candy and color it blue. www.candymaking.net has a great recipe for your regular hard candy.Looking for a tintable cake glaze, any advice?
here's my favorite glaze mix powdered sugar with a small amount of water and lemon juice. you can color it blue by add pureed blueberries or blue food coloring.
icing gel can be tinted blue %26amp; makes a great water/pond. just add a touch of blue or green food coloring. i have made a pond cake using this %26amp; it turned out great. i have pics if you want
