What is the best advice for anyone diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure?

I just wondered what somone would give as advice. Thank you! What is the best advice for anyone diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure?
PLEASE listen to what your doctor tells you to do. i've heard that you can live with it. my mom didn't listen to his advice and did what she wanted to do. to spare you from a long story (if you do want it, email me), she ended up with a pic-line in near her collarbone. it was a permanent i.v. so that this little machine could pump medicine to her heart. well, she passed away 1hr. after she told my dad she didn't want to live like that anymore, and took the battery out. she was 54. i know this may be an extreme case, but let the loved one know how serious it can be. my prayers are with you. What is the best advice for anyone diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure?
well, the first thing is that you need to follow your doctor's advice. this may mean that you need to see a nutritionist to figure out an appropriate diet - one that will help reduce the stress on the heart, it may mean eating less salt, more fruit and vegetables and also, if necessary, losing weight. then its also important to find a gym that specialises in helping patients with heart problems, they will assess your fitness and work out a fitness programme that will gradually increase your fitness and therefore the health of your heart. it also helps to join a support group and meet regularly with other people who have the same problem, it makes life long diseases much easier to handle and its also easier to slip into the exercise routines and stuff, because there is someone to encourage you. and then finally, take your medication and see your doctor regularly!
Follow you Dr's advice, as they will be monitoring your heart health and also kidney function.

if you are well enough to do daily walking then do it. My F-I-L has had chronic heart failure for about 18 years now, but his health is really starting to falter in the last 12 mths.

Eat a healthy diet, keep your weight down to normal levels and do not smoke. Good luck!!

Listen to your Cardiologist, take your medications as prescribed, be vigilant with sodium restrictions, no alcohol, exercise, follow fluid restrictions, check weight once a day,no smoking, follow a healthy heart diet , if sad or depressed by this seek help
the dr may restrict your fluid intake if so do as he/she says! CHF isnt hard to live with once u get used to the lifestyle change. my bro wat diagnosed 4 yrs ago with an ef (heart function) of 20%. with controlled fluid intake and diet he has increased his ef to normal.
