How can a 15 year old, In England get advice on giving up smoking?

I started a couple of years ago, stopped a month or so ago, but just recently I have acted on the urges to continue smoking.

I feel stupid, so please don't tell me that. I need genuine advice please :)

Would they have to legally inform my parents (The NHS), I have trawlered the internet trying to find out, but can't so any help ?

Hi, first of all, congratulations for the attempt of giving up, you've done well. Firstly, ring the NHS stop smoking helpline (find it on their website) and talk to them. They will find you nearest stop smoking advisors/clinics in your area. It is unlikely they will ';have'; to tell your parents - remember, they want to help you give up smoking, their not out to get you in trouble. Or, if you don't want to ring up, go to your local pharmacy/doctor's practice - they will undoubtedly have posters up for those who want to give up smoking. Hope this helps and good luck! How can a 15 year old, In England get advice on giving up smoking?
The NHS will not inform your parents. Everything between your doctor and you is confidential.

I stopped smoking on New Years Eve, and found that when i had the urge to smoke, i did something completely different. or... if your parents don't know, spend loads of time with them so you literally CANNOT smoke and you'll soon find you don't even think about it!
What are people on about get something else your addicted to!

It'll be food and you will get fat, so don't do that.

But my dad stopped smoking, and he bought them inhalators from nicoret. And after smoking for somewhat 35 years, he has been a non smoker since new year!

They are expensive, but effective (:

Good luck sugaa (:
There are clinincs which run certain days at your local health centre, maybe you could go in and check.

I was told by our school nurse (though I stay in Scotland) that it doesn't matter what name you give, your parents won't be informed. It's completley confidential.

Also maybe your school nurse can help?

Hope this helps.
get a buddddy you know who wants to give up to!!

*coughs* %26lt;%26lt; (smokers cough aswell as hinting cough)

and and and then we could support eachother and come up with rewards and such! like, friendly competition to see how long we can go without them! :)

it'd be good, bitta support and extra cash!

(my god i'm skint)

;D

try smoking sensation its a support group to help people quit smoking many health centres to it and no they cannot tell your parents as that would be breaking the oath they took when graduating to respect and honer patient confidentiality
You could probably ask an online advisor at Connexions, you'll find the link on the website.

I don't think they need to inform parents on the NHS programme.
