I need legal advice re: keeping an American who has served time for murder from moving to our Canadian town?

The murder occurred in the States.

The woman was dating a police officer at the time, and used his gun to shoot the victim at a house party.

The victim was the one who was from the small town in Canada.

She has since been released and is off probation, and has met a police officer online who is living in the same small town that the victim was from, and where his family still resides.

She is now attempting to move here and reside as a permanent resident.

Are there any legal steps we can take to keep her from residing here?I need legal advice re: keeping an American who has served time for murder from moving to our Canadian town?
Did the accept her residency application ? It was my understanding that could not happen as a Felon.I need legal advice re: keeping an American who has served time for murder from moving to our Canadian town?
Whether or not she is granted residence is up to what ever agency handles immigration issues in your country.

I would think that a place like Canada with low crime would not allow such a person to immigrate to begin with. You really have no say in their decision I'm afraid.
