Resume Or Interview Advice For Someone With No Paid Work Experience?

Just wondering what a person could do to improve their chances if they don't yet have paid work experience.

Any tips for resumes?

Any tips for interviews?

And, anything in particular that could make up for it, like good letters of reference or great academic background?Resume Or Interview Advice For Someone With No Paid Work Experience?
Letters of Reference are great, in general, but MUCH better if they are on topic, and not simply along the line of ';Davey is Such a good boy. --signed His Mommy';:D Another helpful thing to consider with References, is do I (or in this case you) know anyone in my personal life, that has a connection to this field.

Example: My mother recently applied for work as a Bus Driver, she needed the references. She had 2 former bosses in/connected to the field she was looking in. For the 3rd reference she used a good friend who used to work for.... the Board of Education. While not a bus driver, her friend was connected to the field.

Think of your life, try to include relavent details. Example, if I was going to get a job at PetSmart, I would mention my volunteer time with the Humane Society, though incredibly brief. I would speak of how rewarding it was:D, and would probably mention my back ground.

Currently live with 3 dogs, 2 cats and a rabbit. Have had, litterally, several dozen parakeets. Several fish, cats, and dogs. I've helped with the care of baby animals, including the afore mentioned, cats, parakeets, squirels, and others.

I would also suggest going to relatively impartial associates you know, and asking them, POLITELY:D, to be relatively brutally honest with you about your good and bad qualities.

Go in Clean Shaven, not smelling of liquir, dressed nicely, but also properly for the job.Resume Or Interview Advice For Someone With No Paid Work Experience?
I am a small employer, and one thing I find not helpful in a resume are long ones from beginners, ones showing moving around from job to job, even with good references.Be honest ,straight up,good letters of reference maybe some words from ur overseer,bs servant.Clean shaven,as Ish states, things that they don't like to have to correct you on as you will be a representative of their Co.%26gt;%26gt;wish you well%26gt;%26gt;Be positive.
Really make your volunteer experience sound good. Make yourself stand out among the others.

Put your education first then volunteer experience. You want your prosepectful employer to see that your good and reliable.
